Peri-menopause, menopause, hormonal change and bone-health nutrition.
I have a special interest in perimenopausal and postmenopausal women’s health, as it is a confounding factor in many of my dietetic consultations. I offer evidence-informed advice on energy, body composition, cardiovascular risk, bone health, sleep and gut symptoms during peri- and post-menopause.
My approach is paced and individual. My dietetic advice is balanced, recognising the importance of dietary and lifestyle changes to alleviate your symptoms, and also the limits that dietary and lifestyle approaches can reach.
Structured, non-judgemental support for sustainable weight change.
Patient-centred plans built around your history, lifestyle, medications (including the use of GLP-1 therapy) and your personal goals. We focus on realistic behaviour change, appetite regulation and meal patterning rather than restrictive diets. I have been working in weight management for more than a decade and I am able to support you to achieve your personal goals.
I can assist with both pre- and post-bariatric surgery management, including personalised liver-shrinking protocols, stage-by-stage progression of textures, protein adequacy, vitamin and mineral monitoring, and long-term eating patterns after gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy and revisional bariatric surgery.
Type 1, type 2, gestational and pre-diabetes – thyroid and adrenal issues.
I have extensive experience in glucose-aware meal planning, carbohydrate counting, and medication functionality including insulin therapy, insulin pumps, and other oral and injectable diabetes medications. I can also support you during gestational diabetes to achieve your personal diabetes management goals.
We will work together to optimise your dietary habits to support your treatment for endocrine conditions including PCOS, thyroid disorders, adrenal conditions and pituitary-related changes. Care can be coordinated where appropriate with your endocrinologist and GP.
Gastrointestinal conditions
IBS, reflux, IBD, coeliac disease and functional gut symptoms.
I can assist you with structured, stepped approaches for certain gastrointestinal conditions: first-line dietary advice for IBS and, where indicated, support following a low-FODMAP diet under supervision; guidance and support to navigate coeliac disease or suspected gluten intolerance; and dietary guidance for acid reflux and heartburn symptoms. I can also support and guide you, alongside your gastrointestinal team, in the management of IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease).
Cardiovascular issues
Lipid management, hypertension and post-event cardiac nutrition.
I can suggest preventative and post-cardiac-event dietary patterns supported by NICE and major cardiology guidance, including Mediterranean-style eating, sodium awareness, personalised dietary options and pragmatic dining-out strategies.
