Important safety note
The information on this page is educational and general. It is not medical advice and is not personalised to you. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have a chronic condition such as diabetes, kidney disease, heart disease or an eating disorder, or if you take regular medication, please discuss any significant dietary changes with a registered dietitian, your GP, or relevant specialist.

For most healthy adults.

These are starting points, not prescriptions. They apply to many adults without specific medical needs. They do not replace individual clinical assessment, and they may not be appropriate for people with certain medical conditions, allergies, or who are taking specific medications.

A useful starting framework for most healthy adults is half the plate vegetables or fruit, a quarter quality carbohydrates and a quarter protein. Aim to include fibre-rich foods at each meal: vegetables, legumes, whole grains, nuts and seeds.
